Coinciding with the russian invasion, tons of fake content have been shared on the internet, trying to relate Ukraine´s President, Volodímir Zelenski, with Nazi ideology through different symbols and manipulated images. In Maldita.es we have collected some of them. In case you detect some more, you are free to send them to us through our WhatsApp chatbox (+34 644 22 93 19).

No, Zelenski is not wearing a shirt with a Nazi swastika: is the logo of Ukraine´s Armed Forces

One of the most shared content which is circulating is a fake picture of the Ukrainian President in which he appears wearing a green shirt with an Iron Cross in the center. The picture has been shared as if it was a Nazi emblem, however it is not true: it’s the logo of the Ukrainian Army.

No, this picture in which Volodímir Zelenski, president of Ukraine, is holding a shirt with a Nazi swastika is fake

Moreover, we have received this picture, which circulates through social media, where we see Zelenski supposedly holding a shirt with a Nazi symbol. It is also fake: the photography is just a con. In the original one, Zelenski shares a shirt of the Ukrainian National Football Team with his name and number 95 in the back, the same he published on his Instagram account the 8th of june 2012.

No, the symbol of Azov Battalion is not printed in the shirt of Zelenski: it is the logo of the Ukrainian National Football Team

Another content shared in platforms like Facebook is a picture in which the Ukrainian President is holding the same shirt. In this occasion the picture is enclosed with other pictures where we can see the symbol of Azov Battalion, part of the statal National Guard of Ukraine and described as neonazi by the United States Congress. But it is a hoax. The logo does not belong to the Azov Battalion, but to the Ukrainian National Football Team.
