Maldita.es and Twitter Spain would like to introduce our latest course: “Learn how to verify in 21 tweets.” This course on how to fight disinformation on Twitter will take place in a dynamic and collaborative manner on our account @maldita_es. During a week, we will learn how to spot a fake tweet and how to identify a phishing attempt. We will also discuss the threats of the COVID-19 infodemic and will understand how our own cognitive biases influence critical thinking.
Following this course is easy! Every day from Monday the 8th of February until Sunday the 14th we will tweet at 8:30PM a mini thread that will contain a tip or a verification technique as well as a challenge. At 10PM we will share the answers. At the end of the week we will have our own full course in one single Twitter thread:
The amount of lies and hoaxes that are shared increases by the day, which means that the battle against disinformation is now more important than ever. In Maldita Educa we work hard to provide you with the tools you need to defend yourselves. Education, technology, fact-checking and collaboration are essential in order to make decisions with all available information. That's the only way we will be able to prevent being fooled by these contents.
